Grind coffee. To make coffee in a French filter pot, you need to grind the coffee to thicker particles so that the coffee tastes better and more mellow. When you buy a coffee grinder, you'd better choose a grindstone grinder rather than a blade grinder, because the former is more consistent.

three

Pour the ground coffee particles into a clean glass coffee pot. The general ratio is one tablespoon of coffee particles and a cup of water. If you want to filter out 4 cups, add 4 tablespoons coffee particles.

four

Boil the water. Pour into the coffee pot and let the water flow around so that the coffee particles can be fully saturated. Stop when the water level reaches 1cm below the upper metal ring.

Leave some space on it to allow the coffee particles to swell, or "bloom", to form foam, just as you usually see a layer of foam on top of espresso.

five

Time with a timer. The key to using a French filter pot to make coffee lies in timing. Set the timer to 4 minutes, and start timing immediately after the previous step is completed.

For the past 1 minute, stir to disperse the foam so that the coffee particles are made more evenly. Add hot water to the coffee pot that is about to boil until the metal ring is covered. Do not use a metal spoon when stirring, as it may damage the coffee pot, preferably with wooden or plastic spoons and painted chopsticks.

six

Close the lid. Cover the coffee pot with a vent lid and strainer, and make sure the vent of the lid corresponds to the mouth of the coffee pot.

seven

Filter pressure! 4 minutes later, gently and firmly press the piston to the bottom. In this way, you can filter out the coffee particles and stop brewing coffee.

Note: if you forget to stir for a minute, you will find this step a little difficult. Don't force the piston down, pull it back a little, and then press it down. Pressing down may damage the coffee pot and make a mess.

eight

Pour the coffee into the cup and start enjoying it. Store the remaining coffee in an insulation cup so that you can enjoy warm coffee at any time. According to personal preference, add seasonings such as sugar and cream

Method 1: use a standard coffee machine

Collect material. You will need a coffee maker, clean glass water bottle, filter paper, grinder and a cup.

two

Grind coffee beans. Adjust the grinder to medium (or follow your grinder's instructions). You can also use ground coffee, but it will lose a little flavor. Choosing coffee beans is the key. If you prefer a lighter taste, try seasoned coffee or lightly mixed coffee. If you have a strong coffee that awakens energy, you can choose espresso or Kona beans. Mix all kinds of coffee beans together and there are some very good combinations.

three

Put the filter paper into the cooking basket. According to the instructions of your coffee machine, use filter paper of the right size. If the cooking basket can be removed, rinse a cooking basket and filter paper with hot water to remove the smell of the paper.

There is also a reusable filter, which can not only reduce the waste of paper, but also will not leave any smell, it is also very convenient to clean.

four

Put the ground coffee powder into the filter. Most coffee machines need 2 tablespoons of coffee powder to make a cup of coffee. Adjust the proportion according to your taste: add more coffee powder if you like the strong flavor, and add less if you like the light flavor. If the coffee is too strong, you can add some hot water to the cup.

five

Pour water into the water tank of the coffee machine. Use a glass water bottle as a measuring cup and use the right amount of water according to the amount of coffee powder you pour into it. Most coffee machines are measured on the side.)

six

turn on. Press the power button or the on button. The coffee will be preheated for 1 to 2 minutes, and then the coffee will be brewed. Some coffee machines cook faster, while others cook slowly. It's good to cook slowly, because the taste will be fuller. When you make coffee, you can fry an egg, bacon or a piece of bread, and then pair it with brewed coffee for a quick, delicious and warm breakfast.

seven

When drinking coffee, you can add some sugar and cream if you like.
