In sharing, Mario mentioned that when judging whether a cup of coffee is good or bad by the senses, there are three questions: can you tell the difference? What kind of taste can it taste? Do you like it personally? These three questions involve differential judgment, descriptive judgment, and emotional judgment.

In terms of sensory science, it is not recommended to confuse three different types of sensory assessments. But there is such a problem in the existing (old) SCA cup meter.

In the old SCA cup meter, "Body alcohol thickness" and "Balance balance" use emotional judgment, while "uniformity consistency" uses differential judgment, and "Intensity overall strength" uses descriptive judgment.

In order to solve this problem, Mario said that descriptive words and some additional key questions will be added to the original cup table, through five omni-directional perspectives: raw bean grade, descriptive judgment (used to judge the flavor performance of coffee), emotional judgment (used to judge an individual's impression of coffee quality), external attributes, and discovery value, and then developed a new coffee value evaluation system.
