Papua New Guinea coffee stands alone on the island of New Guinea, distinct from Indonesia, a neighboring country. Volcanic soil, rich rainforest environment, its bright, sour, fruity smell similar to Central and South American flavor. Smallholders grow about 20 trees in so-called coffee gardens, alongside subsistence crops, and share washing plant equipment with co-op members. Most of the coffee grown here is certified organic and has a unique wild aroma, without the rustic flavor of Indonesian coffee such as Sumatra and Sulawesi.

Papua New Guinea's estate coffee comes from larger farms and has a cleaner, more refined cupping quality. It is lighter in taste than Java beans, with subtle aromas and complexity, sometimes comparable to the highest quality coffee beans in Central America in terms of acid value and brightness. A well-known American baker described Papua New Guinea's sun-baked beans as "amazingly deep and multi-aromatic." Kimmel Manor coffee is bright, sour and fruity, while Arokara Manor coffee is more balanced and suitable for espresso.

Papua New Guinea is an island country in the southwest Pacific Ocean. It is located in the eastern half of New Guinea Island, adjacent to Papua Province of India in the west, facing Australia and Solomon Islands in the south and east respectively.

Papua New Guinea is an equatorial rainy climate zone, with hot weather and heavy rainfall, forming tropical rain forests. Because Papua New Guinea is dominated by tropical rain forests, it is also quite rich in biology. The plants are mainly some trees with open leaves that are tens of meters high, while the animals are mainly birds and primates.

About 75% of coffee production in Papua New Guinea comes from small farms, many of which are cultivated in forests or deep forests, almost isolated from the world, and relatively high quality in the country's highlands at 1300-1800 meters above sea level. Coffee cultivation here is largely natural, as problems with transporting fertilizers and pesticides to farms are costly, making coffee in the country mostly organic.
