Sitio Bela Vista Farm
Sitio Bela Vista Farm is located in the Patrimonio do Ouro Mountains in the state of Esprito Santo, Brazil. The region is famous for its rich precious metals, especially gold. Patrimonio do Ouro can be roughly translated into a golden legacy.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Rama family was one of the first families to open a coffee farm in the region. They named it Sitio Bela Vista. During the early years of coffee cultivation in the Patrimonio do Ouro area, farmers acted on pure intuition. However, when coffee became their main source of income, they began to develop their agricultural knowledge and skills.
In 2000, people began to pursue high-quality coffee. Peelers, washing machines, drying platforms and fermentation boxes are installed in the area. The Luomao family complied with this trend and invested in all the necessary equipment. As a result, the family won three regional competitions and realized the potential of their coffee.
At Sitio Bela Vista Farm, coffee is selected four to five times a year. This picking strategy ensures that all cherries are ripe. It keeps the quality of Sitio Bela Vista farms at a high level. The family took all necessary measures to avoid contaminated or spoiled coffee beans and used bags to better ventilate cherries.
The treatment is carried out in the compound. They separate floats, pulp, and remove mucus. The parchment is dried on the patio, where the temperature is continuously checked by the farm staff.
