As we all know, Japanese love cats. Whether in life or in film and television works, we can always see the shadow of cats. Even robot cats, sweet private cats and kitty cats, which are deeply loved by everyone, are designed by Japanese.

With this kind of love, cat cafes have blossomed everywhere in Japan and are deeply loved by everyone.

The concept of cat cafes began in Taiwan in 1998, but has taken root in Japan, where more than 150 cat cafes have opened and operated in the past decade. Although the café looks like a grandstand, it attracts a large number of tourists and local residents. In Japan's cities, where many residents don't have the space or time to feed their own cats, cat cafes allow people to interact with animals for a fraction of the cost.

"This is definitely worth visiting. The ones I visited in Shinjuku were mostly foreigners,"said Sharla Hinskens, a Canadian student living in Japan. "But when I visit small shops outside urban areas, I am surprised to find that there are many local Japanese professionals there. I talked to one of them and he said Cat Cafe was a great place to relax and forget about work, so he came at least once a week."

Cat cafes vary in price, but they aren't cheap: Tokyo's most popular one charges 900 yen (about $9) for an hour of cat time. Drinks cost around 200 yen (cheaper than Starbucks).

To keep cats safe, coffee shops have rules that forbid guests from waking sleeping cats or using flash for photos.
