Yangcheng Evening News Reporter Liu Yong reports: With the help of the national "Belt and Road" strategy, domestic coffee has undergone a major change in export mode. Yangcheng Evening News reporter learned yesterday from the Hougu coffee international freight train launch conference, At present all preparations have been ready, This morning at 10 o 'clock, The train will be in Kunming Wangjiaying West Container Center Station officially opened, This will be Yunnan coffee through the international railway for the first time to Europe.

The most suitable areas for coffee cultivation in China are mainly concentrated in Yunnan. According to Hu Lu, deputy secretary-general of Yunnan Province Coffee Industry Association, the coffee planting area in Yunnan Province has grown from more than 300,000 mu in 2008 to more than 1.8 million mu now, and the output has grown from more than 20,000 tons in 2008 to about 120,000 tons now. Yunnan coffee industry is rising rapidly. Yunnan coffee planting area and output account for more than 99% of China's total. Yunnan coffee has almost become synonymous with Chinese coffee. Europe is an important market for Yunnan coffee exports, and Yunnan coffee has also become an important raw material for European Arabica coffee blends. The operation of this Hougu Coffee International Train has made up for the shortcomings of Yunnan's international channels facing South Asia and Southeast Asia, which are connected to China and Europe, successfully connected to the national "One Belt and One Road" strategy, and opened up strategic channels for Yunnan coffee, Vietnam and other countries to transport coffee to Europe.

The train eventually arrived in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and initially planned to run two pairs per month. Xiong Xiangren, chairman of Hougu Coffee, said in an interview with Yangcheng Evening News that in the past Yunnan coffee had to be sold to Europe by sea, bypassing the Strait of Malacca, passing through the Mediterranean Sea, arriving in Europe and then divided into Russia, Turkey, Britain, Spain and other countries and regions. It took 30 days to reach Europe as soon as possible. If typhoon and other factors were encountered, it would generally take more than 40 days, while railway transportation only took about 15 days. It should be noted that this special train will carry 34 containers of coffee beans and 66 containers of coffee instant powder products from Hougu Coffee. This is the first time that Yunnan exports deeply processed coffee products to Europe by railway transportation, marking the beginning of Yunnan coffee industry from agricultural raw material export to coffee industrial product export. But because rail freight costs are inherently higher than sea freight, Hougu plans to try to ship half of its exports this year via the China-Europe train.
