Introduction to the Brand characteristics, usage and principle of Bilody Bialetti Mocha Pot Coffee utensils

Bialetti is the most famous brand of mocha pot, and its mocha pot still retains the most classic shape. If you have been to the front street store, you will remember the classic octagonal pot lying on the display shelf. This is the classic mocha pot produced by Bialetti Company.
The Birth of the Bilotti Mocha Pot
The earliest method of brewing coffee was to boil coffee powder directly in water on the stove and filter it for drinking. In the 19th century, people began to try to use steam to brew coffee, hoping to make a strong cup of coffee in a very short time. At the beginning of the 20th century, the industrial revolution began to ferment all over the world, and the italians built an espresso machine that looked and sounded like a steam train boiler. The dazzling metal case had brass accessories, and the coffee was brewed with sound and light effects. Steam trains were an epoch-making product, allowing people to travel quickly from one place to another, and they didn't disappoint when they were used to brew coffee. Modern feelings and coffee tastes were perfectly combined. Coffee shops attracted Italian men like magnets, and there was always a good excuse to leave home.
Coffee at home pales in comparison to coffee in cafes. This situation did not change completely until 1933 when Alfonso Bialetti invented the first appliance to completely improve home coffee. And this coffee appliance is the mocha pot we are familiar with today. What is even more amazing is that this mocha pot has never changed at any point since Bialetti was designed. Whether it is material design or even appearance, what we see today is exactly the same as the first mocha pot born in 1933. Its distinctive shape even ranks alongside the Vespa of 1946 and the Fiat 500 of 1957 in the most influential Italian design poll of the 20th century.

The clever Bialetti created a mocha pot that allowed people to brew coffee-house coffee at home, but the octagonal mocha pot didn't really flourish until his son Renato inherited the mantle.
Renato returned to Italy from Germany after World War II and reopened the machinery his father packed during the war. With his marketing skills, he expanded from reading newspapers, broadcasting and even large-scale three-dimensional sculptures outside exhibition halls. The production of Moka Express expanded from 10,000 bottles per year in his father's time to 1,000 bottles per day, and the global sales volume reached 300 million from 1950 to the end of the 20th century.
Times are changing, and the material of mocha pots has evolved from aluminum to a variety of materials, but Bialetti's Moka Express mocha pot, in addition to some parts produced by industrial technology, still insists on the hand-made bottom pot used to hold water since its inception in 1933, which is why its internal surface looks very handmade. The original Italian Bialetti Mocha pot has a cartoon image of a mustached man pointing up as if he is ordering a cup of coffee. This is a logo created by Renato in accordance with his father's image. Now it appears in 90% of Italian families, but also in the hearts of coffee lovers all over the world.

Mocha pot coffee brewing principle
Mocha pot is mainly divided into 3 structures, the lowest layer is filled with water, the middle layer is filled with coffee powder, and the top layer is filled with coffee. First of all, the lower layer is filled with water, the middle layer is filled with coffee powder, and the three parts are spliced together. Then through heating to form pressure, let the water through the middle of the metal tube suction up, extract the middle of the coffee powder, the final coffee spurts to the top layer.

How to make coffee in a mocha pot
Before there have been many friends asked how the front street mocha pot used to make coffee, here the front street agreed to reply. First of all, choose the right coffee beans and the corresponding grinding degree. Because mocha pot uses pressurized extraction, it will be suitable for some dark roasted coffee beans. For example, the warm sun blend beans used in Front Street Italian Coffee, or the medium-roasted Papuan Bird of Paradise, the coffee beans of the Brazilian Queen Estate are all good choices.

The grinding degree is also very important for mocha pots. If it is too fine, there is a high probability that the coffee liquid will not come up, and the pressure of the pot will increase. If the pressure is not released properly, there will be a danger of explosion. Therefore, if the water has been boiling and the coffee has not come up for a long time, the heating source should be turned off in time. Too thick is not good, because the resistance is too small, coffee will spurt out, easy to appear splash burn danger. The thickness recommended for Front Street is EK-43s #3 -3.5 scale (fine powder).
specific operation
1. Pour hot water into the pot until 0.5cm below the pressure relief valve. Choosing hot water can better shorten the brewing time of coffee.

2. Pour the ground coffee powder into the powder tank and beat it left and right to let the coffee powder squeeze naturally downward. And spread the powder layer surface flat. The purpose of this is to make the space between the powder particles evenly distributed, not to squeeze is to prevent the resistance of the powder layer is too large.

3. Put the powder trough into the lower pot and tighten the upper pot with the lower pot. Put it on an electric pot, turn on the power, and start heating.

4. When the mocha pot heats up to a certain temperature, when the mocha pot is used to make a clear "whine" sound, set the electric ceramic stove to a small fire and open the lid of the pot, and the coffee liquid and grease begin to flow out.

5. When the coffee liquid in the pot is halfway out, turn off the electric ceramic stove. And move the mocha pot onto the table. The residual heat and pressure of the mocha pot will cause the remaining coffee liquid to "push" into the pot.
