I'm Michael Yung. I'm a barista.

He won the Canadian champion of the World baristas Competition in 2007 and became the certified judge of the coffee competition in 2009. At present, I am the head of the coffee department in Hong Kong Pacific Coffee. At the same time, I am also the chairman of the 2015 World Coffee Events (WCE, World Coffee campaign Committee).

In the past year, coffee has accompanied me through 120000 of the journey, please follow my camera, embark on the coffee journey.

Vancouver, Canada. I'm finally home.

Five years ago, when I left Vancouver and moved to Hong Kong, I only came back once or twice as a transit point to the United States or South America. But as your hometown, there is no doubt that Vancouver is a delightfully beautiful place, and no matter how long you stay, you will be attracted by its charm.

Since I moved to Hong Kong, I have started to travel a lot. At first it was only once or twice a year, but in the past two years, the number of business trips has gradually increased. The mileage has reached 10000 kilometers per month (reference: the distance from Vancouver to Hong Kong is about 6300 kilometers). The life style of "Flying Man" gradually made me get into the habit of sharing what I saw on the way, using cameras to record travel, coffee, and my hometown, Vancouver.

What's in the coffee fan's bag?

I simply packed some luggage before leaving Vancouver. A high-quality suitcase is extremely important during the journey. Both of my suitcases are Rimowa Salsa Multiwheel, one is 61 liters, the other is 86 liters. I usually choose the latter for a long-distance trip (if I go to Japan, I will take both!). The four big wheels of the suitcase rowed with me across the transfer station, the European cobblestone path and the thick carpet of the hotel, strong and reliable. In addition, the special composite box is extremely lightweight, and the password lock is also designed to be very user-friendly. While the characteristics of global co-insurance are very important to a frequent traveler, you can't predict when and where the "savage consignment" will crush your suitcase. At this time, co-guarantee is a lifesaver.

When I travel, I always bring my own coffee. Some people may wonder, as a traveler visiting coffee, why bring his own coffee? Because every trip is full of unknowns, it is impossible to predict the quality of coffee. For me, the first cup of coffee every day is very important, this is my "reassurance". Once I've made my own coffee, I'm ready to start my coffee adventure.

During the trip, I will bring some portable coffee making tools: a filter cup, several pieces of filter paper and a scale. I use a portable Porlex mini hand bean grinder, the ceramic tapered cutter head is very strong, the axis is also very stable, can grind a very uniform coffee powder. As for the filter cup, I chose the tapered plastic filter cup of Krono, so that I wouldn't be afraid of breaking it accidentally during the trip. The electronic says I use the Acaia special coffee.

Finally, the camera is one of the indispensable equipment. In fact, I have only recently become addicted to photography, every trip, where I want to go, what to do there, it depends on what kind of visual experience I want to get. The camera I use is a SonyA7S full-frame, 2.8aperture, 35mm fixed-focus lens, which is a good wide-angle lens and is light and easy to carry. My other lens is Flenda Voigtl ä nder50mm fplink 1.5, which is very suitable for use in dim light and can take pictures with strong contrast. This is definitely the visual effect I want.
